Having an affiliate program where hundreds of people sign up is a whole different ball game and could shoot your profits through the roof.

Even today, a lot of small business owners still do not have a website and local SEO still might sounds like a foreign language to them. If you motivate and train your affiliates to earn revenue for themselves this will ultimately drive new customers to your site. Keeping your affiliates pumped up and selling isn’t easy. But their success is paramount to your online success.

If you are already running an affiliate program from your website you already know that most people who sign up for your program are never heard from again. From my own experience in the early days I would sign up to various affiliate programs, get the link and then not really know what to do with it. It felt like they were saying: “Well here’s your link now get on with it.”

You need to remain in touch with your affiliates constantly by reminding them of their usernames and passwords and showing them how to log in to check their figures to see how they are doing and keep them informed of new products that they can promote and any changes in procedure.

Most affiliates need leadership, guidance and training to perform well. Giving them nothing but a text link and banner won’t generate enthusiasm or excitement. They need to feel part of your business and enjoy promoting it.

Provide up to date sales copy and new material to your affiliates on a regular basis and inform and help them to succeed and make money with your program. If they don’t make money then you don’t either.

These are difficult and uncertain times. People are looking for new and different ways to earn extra money to look after their families so there has never been a better time to recruit and advertise for affiliates.

Just remember and always keep in mind that their success is also your success.
